Latest update...

After spending all morning in the garden planting, pruning and feeding the borders we went to the Spring Fayre at Wollescote Park where Dudley Mind Growing in the park had a stall. For those who don't know, this is the charity we have adopted as the beneficiary of our open gardens. It was a lovely warm sunny afternoon and it was great to have the opportunity to be shown round the walled garden and glasshouses which the team are planning to restore.

Unfortunately the good weather didn't last and now there's a thunderstorm approaching. In fact its raining now and has been for the last hour or so; ever since I started to dismantle the pebble pool and clean it out (the flow had reduced to next to nothing . Something had to be done).

The Malvern show yesterday was brilliant. It was nice to return after several years of not attending. As expected I came back with plenty of new additions for the garden!

Preparations now are for Chelsea where Ashwoods are attempting to stage an exhibit of Hepaticas which I have been involved with alongside John Massey VHM. Then our next open day is 10th July so preparations will have to be made for that (cakes etc....) Before that we have several group visits scheduled bringing thirsty, hungry plants people wanting tea and cake! The garden is looking fantastic and received nothing but positive feedback on the last open day (April 17th) which was overwhelming. The spring stuff is reaching its crescendo now and the summer stars are waiting tentatively in the wings for their turn to shine...
