Adding a little colour...

The cold weather is coming so they tell me so at least the garden might return to normal. Even the fuchsia and summer bedding are re-shooting in the baskets outside.
Its lovely to see the snowdrops popping up here and there, like old friends they seem to poke their heads above everything else and wave "Yoo-hoo I'm here!"

This week i've been planting more bulbs which i'd got in the boxing day sales for as little as 5op a bag- including some expensive snowdrops 'Washfield Wareeham' and large bags of mixe alliums. Aiming to inject some more colou into the January garden, i've bought several more Hellebores 'Ashwood hybrids'. The seem to do well in this garden under the shrubs and deciduous trees as these conditions closely replicate their natural habitat. In the wild they grow mainly in oak woodland, on banks and slopes which provide shade and good drainage.
